C.A. Seydel Sohne
C.A.Seydel Söhne's is one of the world's oldest harmonica manufacturers. It's instruments are well respected by players of all levels throughout the world. The current list of endorsers reaches back to the origins of modern blues with James Cotton and includes modern blues stalwarts like Charlie Musselwhite, innovators like Howard Levy, jazz greats like Mike Turk and young virtuosos like L.D. Miller.
Seydel's rich history, superior instruments, perseverance, and employee loyalty are what separate C.A.Seydel Söhne from other manufacturers.
C.A.Seydel Söhne (Seydel and Sons) was established in 1847. It began producing harmonicas during the height of the second industrial revolution and through excellence and sheer determination has stayed in business through two world wars, the great depression, the Cold War and everything in between.
Starting with an influx of capital during Germany's reunification after the Cold War ended in 1989, C.A.Seydel Söhne has worked diligently to re-establish itself as a major player in the world harmonica market.
Around 1991 when he company was returned to the Seydel family, "Works" manager Karl Pucholt developed a new plastic comb, wonderful ergonomic coverplates and reedplates produced that were more than one octave lower than the usual tonal spectrum of a Diatonic harmonica. They built upon these and other innovations by manufacturing harmonicas with custom tunings on demand. This led to an unparalleled reputation among top players.
Relying on two of Seydel's greatest strengths, perseverance and employee loyalty, C.A.Seydel Söhne, Lars Seifer, has positioned itself into become a genuine force in the world harmonica market.
