SPAH Youth Grant

The SPAH Youth Support Committee will make several grants to suitable applicants to attend the 2015 SPAH convention in Denver, Colorado. Grants will cover rooming costs at the SPAH convention hotel for the nights of Wednesday, August 12, through Saturday, August 15, and will include convention registration for each grant recipient.
 
Applicants must be 21 years old or younger. Each grant recipient will be expected to perform at the convention and will be required to contribute a small amount of his or her time to activities of the Youth Support Committee (for example, selling raffle tickets for prizes at the Saturday night banquet and show). Priority will be given to applicants who have not previously been selected.
 
Harmonica players interested in applying should write short paragraph essay answers to the questions on this PDF. Applicants must also submit a sample of their playing along with the application. Examples of harmonica playing can be submitted by emailing an MP3, mailing in a CD, providing a link to a YouTube video, or arranging to play live for the selection committee on Skype or the telephone.

Applications for the SPAH Youth Grant (including the sample of the applicant’s harmonica playing) must be received by June 1. Recipients of the SPAH Youth Grant for the 2015 Convention will be selected by the SPAH Youth Support Committee and notified by June 15.
